Consumer Counseling Northwest is a U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) approved comprehensive housing counseling agency.  We provide a full range of counseling services to our Northwest residents.

Mortgage Delinquency and Default Counseling
Our trained and certified counselors will help you assess your situation and attempt to find solutions for delinquency situations.  Our telephone or in-person counseling sessions are completely confidential and we try to schedule your appointment as quickly as possible so that you can start taking steps to cure the situation as soon as possible.  For more information on default and foreclosure, please reference HUD’s website www.hud.gov/foreclosure

Rental Assistance Counseling
You will work with your CCNW Counselor to understand your current financial situation and develop a plan to help alleviate your situation.  Your counselor will provide you with referrals to appropriate housing authorities, housing providers and community agencies.  CCNW is not a provider of rental or other types of housing, but works with local communities to help residents with rental challenges.  Additional information is available at www.hud.gov/renting

Homeless Assistance Counseling
Your CCNW Counselor will assist you with an in-depth examination of your current situation and provide you with referrals to community agencies to address you immediate needs.  You can learn more by going to HUD’s website at www.hud.gov/homeless

Home Buyer Program
The curriculum for the Home Buyer Program is approved by the Washington State Housing Finance Commission. The five-hour course covers such basics of home ownership as:

• Budget planning
• Credit reports
• Pre-qualification
• Down payment and closing costs
• Special loan programs
• Home inspections
• Real estate market
• Ownership responsibilities

Pre-Purchase Counseling
CCNW offers individual counseling so you can determine exactly where you are in the home buying process and what you need to do next to reach your goal. Through the one-on-one counseling sessions, consumers gain the money management skills necessary to prepare for a future home purchase. Counseling includes:

• Debt counseling
• Credit report review
• Budgeting for home purchase
• Loan program options
• Planning for loan qualification
• Post-purchase expenses
